September 15-19, 2008 Nagoya, Japan
Overview
We are pleased to
announce the first Nagoya International Summer School on the
Galactic Center - from Cold Molecular Gas to High Energy Phenomena, to
be held at Nagoya University on the 15-19th September 2008. The school
features three invited speakers from institutes in the USA and
Australia, all working at the forefront of research on the Galactic
Center region. The 5 day period will be split between lecture courses
and oral/poster presentations on recent results. We aim to create an
environment in which both students and staff can engage in intensive
and active discussion on this fascinating and rapidly developing
field.
Invited Lectures
- Mark Morris (UCLA) : The Interstellar Environment at the Galactic Center
- Giles Novak (Northwestern University) : Dust grains and magnetic fields in the Galactic center
- Roland Crocker (Monash University) : Non-Thermal Signals from the Galactic Centre
Presentations by Attendees
All those participating
in the school are expected to give either an oral or poster
presentation on their own work. Postdocs and faculty may apply for
